CarlisleFest

Carlislefest 2009

   CarlisleFest, set for October 30^th and 31^st , is a celebration of the brave men and women who have served and are currently serving our country from Carlisle County, as well as a celebration of the community. The two day festival will have a fall carnival type atmosphere as festivities will begin on Friday with activities for all ages.The proceeds from CarlisleFest will go towards the new Veterans Park at the new Carlisle County Courthouse facility.
 
  Activities include a 3 on 3 basketball tournament with $1,000 in cash prizes, a cornhole tournament with $400 in cash prizes, a poker run, blowup rides for children, trunk or treat activities, costume contests, and much, much more. On Friday the City of Bardwell will hold a special fireworks display to end the festivities that day. For barbeque aficionados there will be an amateur BBQ tournament that will begin on for all levels of barbequers. Rob Austin, the chairman of the barbeque tournament says that you don’t have to be a professional to participate. Austin also said that for people whose tastes who do not prefer barbeque there will be plenty of other foods available as well. Places for RV’s, tents, etc. will be available for those who want to set up and stay for the weekend.
